Chevy HT383 Crate Engine

GMPP HT 383 engines are big inch engines made for stump pulling torque for pre 1970's Chevy and GMC trucks. Pulling boats and other trailers is no sweat with an HT 383 - Up hills or up the boat ramp, the HT383 gets it done over and over again. The HT383 has the quality you expect in a GM Performance crate motor with the same great warranty.

Pulling requires low end torque at low RPM's to make a V8 last. GMP put plenty of great parts inside to make the engine last. With 435 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm and 400 lb.-ft., trailer pulling makes this engine happy! HT 383 engines are packed with the 383 forged steel stroker crankshaft, HD connecting rods and hyper. pistons. HT 383 engine blocks are 4 bolt main versions for reliable strength.

Possible Applications

  • Pulling trucks
  • Older Suburbans
  • El Caminos you use for towing

*Applications have not been validated. They are merely suggestions of how you might enjoy your GM Performance Parts crate engine. Some applications may affect engine warranty. See specific warranty information. Some applications may not be emission legal; check state and local ordinances.
